Material Handler responsibilities include but are not limited to picking and preparing orders for shipment with accuracy, receiving parts orders, performing quality assurance checks on products received from manufacturing, stocking warehouse, cycle counts, picking components needed by the production team, serial number tracking and other warehouse duties. Customers love our products, and our warehouse team plays a vital role in delivering our products into their hands.

Key Responsibilities

• Walk the warehouse to pick items for orders (sales and transfers) to be filled and shipped and work orders and production needs. Verify all orders for accuracy.
• Inspection of products as picked from the warehouse shelves to ensure quality.
• Prepare orders for packing and production use, with accuracy and ensure shipment and serial numbers matches order.
• Ensure orders are packaged to avoid damage in transit and inspect products and packaging prior to shipment to assess quality.
• Perform quality assurance checks on all orders to ensure accuracy of items match requested order.
• Report any quality issues while picking products from shelves or preparing orders.
• Unload incoming shipments in a safe and timely manner.
• Perform quality assurance on all incoming products and ensure products meet established standards. Pick random AQL samples from each bag/lot from incoming shipments for QC to inspect.
• Restock, repackage, relabel products as needed in proper inventory locations.
• Prepare items for shipment (or pick up) to vendors for outside processes and move in NetSuite to ensure physical and digital alignment.
• For International orders, ensure documents and bill of ladings are correct and prepared for shipments.
• Deliver on key performance indicators (KPI) in assigned areas including but not limited to number of orders, number of items picked, order accuracy, cycle counts, order turnaround times and safety.
• Run daily Cycle counts per the plan to ensure full inventory counts twice per year.
• Maintain safety standards within the warehouse.
• Gain understanding of Huish Outdoor product lines.
• Clean and maintain warehouse areas, keeping shelving and stock in a neat, orderly fashion. Maintain location and bin accuracy.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years warehouse experience preferred
• Basic computer skills, including understanding and functionality of email, Microsoft office and Google Suite.
• Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others and good comprehension skills using both written and verbal in English.
• Basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety.
• Strong organizational abilities, detail oriented.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time, walk and move frequently.
• Forklift operating experience preferred, forklift certification required (HUISH Outdoors can arrange for training and certification if the candidate meets all other requirements).
• Flexible work schedule including possible weekend and overtime as needed.
