The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at TETER, you will play a pivotal role in leading HVAC and plumbing system design projects for buildings of all types. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design to construction administration, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. With your expertise in HVAC and plumbing system design, you will drive innovation and excellence in TETER's mechanical engineering projects.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage HVAC and plumbing system design projects for various building types, including commercial, healthcare, educational, and more.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to develop innovative and sustainable HVAC and plumbing system solutions that meet project requirements and exceed client expectations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring the successful execution of mechanical engineering tasks at every stage of the project.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed construction documents, including HVAC and plumbing system designs, specifications, and drawings.
  • Support projects in the construction phase, including responding to requests for information (RFIs), conducting site visits, and reviewing submittals to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and drafters, fostering their growth and professional development within the firm.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Professional Mechanical Engineer, with a focus on HVAC and plumbing system design for buildings.
  • Current registration as a Mechanical Engineer in the State of California, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months of employment.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of HVAC and plumbing system design, including system layout, equipment selection, load calculations, and code compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage project teams and resources.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected annual salary for this role is $140,900-165,000 (must be willing to work in-office 50% of each week). Actual pay will be determined based on license, experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
