Senior Structural Engineer

As a Senior Structural Engineer at TETER, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design and implementation of structural systems for a diverse range of building projects. Working closely with our Principal Engineer, you will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to our structural engineering team. What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee the design and implementation of structural systems for various building types, including steel, concrete, and timber structures.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to project drafters, engineers-in-training, and other team members, ensuring the successful execution of structural engineering tasks.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and sub-consultants to develop innovative and sustainable structural solutions that meet the unique requirements of each project.
  • Direct the creation of detailed construction documents, including design submittals, specifications, and drawings, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Support projects during the construction phase, including responding to requests for information, reviewing product submittals, and conducting site visits as needed.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and engineers-in-training, providing training and guidance to support their growth and development as structural engineers.
  • Represent the structural team in marketing interviews with potential or existing clients, showcasing our expertise and capabilities in structural system design.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in civil engineering (structural emphasis), structural engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus but not required.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Professional Engineer (Structural), with a focus on designing building structural systems.
  • Current registration as a Structural Engineer in the State of California, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months of employment.
  • Expertise in all aspects of structural engineering design and analysis, including steel, concrete, and timber structures.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage project teams and resources.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected annual salary for this role is $143,200-170,000 (must be willing to work in-office 50% of each week). Actual pay will be determined based on license, experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
