Summary:

As the IT Help Desk Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our technology infrastructure by managing the physical movement and setup of IT equipment across various locations. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, organizational skills, and physical stamina to handle the transportation, installation, and maintenance of IT hardware such as monitors, keyboards, computers, servers, networking devices, and peripherals.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Transport and Setup: Safely and efficiently transport IT equipment between buildings or locations according to predetermined schedules and project requirements. Set up and configure equipment in designated areas following established guidelines and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, including tracking serial numbers, asset tags, and locations. Coordinate with the IT team to conduct regular audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Objective Processed Based Troubleshooting: Assist with troubleshooting hardware issues and performing basic repairs or replacements as needed. Collaborate with IT specialists to resolve technical problems and ensure optimal performance of equipment.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document all equipment movements, installations, and maintenance activities using appropriate tools and systems. Generate reports and provide status updates through tickets regarding inventory levels, equipment condition, and project progress.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to maintain a secure and compliant work environment. Follow industry best practices for handling and transporting IT equipment to mitigate risks of damage or loss.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant coursework preferred.
  • Prior experience in IT support, equipment management, or related field is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, peripherals, and networking principles.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment for equipment assembly, disassembly, and installation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in performing tasks.

Language Skills:

  • English required, bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift full size computer towers, servers and battery backup devices which can exceed 75lbs.
