Description:

The Senior Accountant prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensure general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure all balances are reconciled and contain appropriate supporting backup
  • Serve as the Accounting focal point for all cost accounting, internal order/capital projects and finance related matters (policies and procedures, audits, internal control compliance)
  • Ensure the integrity of business cost data through designed cost flows, detailed analysis, and facilitation of correction of source data
  • Work with the manufacturing group to ensure the proper recording of production, inventory, raw material consumption, and cost / expense data
  • Assist with the preparation and consolidation of the monthly financial statements
  • Evaluates trends, identifies, and investigates unusual or unexpected account variances
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports
  • Assist with requests/documentation related to external and internal audits
  • Assist with preparation of annual audit report
  • Prepare other management and statutory reports, as required
  • Perform other accounting research as needed
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA a plus
  • 3 - 5 years accounting experience
  • Manufacturing background preferred
  • Working knowledge of full cycle GL and audit
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel
  • Solid time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to imagine and implement process improvements
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work both independently as well as in a team environment
