Housekeeper

Midcoast Hospitality Group is looking to hire seasonal housekeepers for one of its resort properties in Boothbay Harbor. This position is responsible to adhere to the highest standard and quality, and to ensure that our guest rooms and other common areas are immaculate. This is a seasonal position that begins approximately May 1.

Essential job functions:

• Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction with the cleanliness of their room by performing a variety of cleaning activities.
• Refresh and/or change bed linens
• Must follow a series of detailed procedures for guestroom cleaning, and a systematic approach according to property standards:  dusting, vacuuming, polishing, etc.
• Must ensure efficiency while working in each room assigned.
• Replace items that need replacing; e.g. lightbulbs, etc.
• Make note of any damaged or missing items, as well as any repairs that need to be done before the room is booked again. 
  
• The sequence includes a final room inspection before reporting that the room is complete. This final check is a critical step in guestroom cleaning and can make the difference between just cleaning the room and doing a professional job.
• Keep the “linen room” in order, and all linens stocked on appropriate shelves.
• Check stocking levels of all supplies and consumables regularly. 

Requirements & Skills

• Attention to detail is a must.
• Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper is preferred.
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Customer oriented and friendly.
• Prioritization and time management skills a must.
• Be able to work quickly without compromising quality.
• Ability to work holidays and weekends.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be capable of standing, walking, and accessing units on all floors using stairs.
• Must be capable of stooping, bending and lifting during routine cleaning, making beds, and in some instances, moving furniture to clean underneath or around an item.
