DEPARTMENT:                OPERATIONAL SERVICES



JOB TITLE:                        Professional School Custodian

                                           (Level 03; 250 days Employment Contract)

REQUIREMENTS:


A. Education Level:                        High School diploma or its equivalent


B. Experience Desired:                  Minimum of 1 year prior custodial experience       


C. Physical requirements:             Good physical health including ability to lift 75 pounds, climb to high and difficult places and work at those     

                                                        places. Requires constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walking. Frequent bending,

                                                        carrying, hearing lifting and stooping.  Occasional climbing and crawling.


D. Working Conditions:                Occasionally subjected to mechanical hazards, extreme temperatures and humidity, atmospheric conditions

                                                        occasionally include fumes and dust, caution necessary to avoid harm from misuse of chemicals



REPORTS TO:                               Building Principal, Director of Operations



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:


  • Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs routine maintenance activities.
  • Performs heavy cleaning duties.
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
  • Gathers and empties trash.
  • Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
  • Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
  • Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
  • Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
  • Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
  • Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
  • Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
  • Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Observes and reports needed repair of equipment, furnishings, fixtures, building and site
  • Assists with set ups and removals for school activities
  • Operates security systems and secures building at the conclusion of shift
  • Works a revised schedule and substitutes for other custodial staff when necessary
  • Performs other duties assigned by Director of Operations



EVALUATION: Annual evaluation performed by Supervisor of Operations
