Primary Function:

As the Security Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our facilities and personnel. You will be responsible for patrolling company premises, controlling access, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security protocols, excellent communication skills, and the ability to react tactically to potential threats.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Open and close secure facility according to protocols
• Patrol and monitor activities on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
• Control the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles according to protocols
• Monitor surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities
• Test security systems and, if needed, operate X-ray machines and metal detectors
• Use provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner
• Evict trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over
• React tactically to dangerous situations with criminal elements
• Have advanced knowledge of firearms, firearms safety, and the ability to pass a firearms qualification
• Inspect delivery vehicles and oversee the secure loading and/unloading of shipments
• Provide detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management
• Perform CPR or first aid when needed
• All other duties as assigned by management

Skills:

• Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment
• Advanced knowledge and ability to carry, qualify, and operate a firearm in a safe manner
• Advanced tactical knowledge to react to dangerous situations with criminal elements

Qualifications:

• Some college coursework preferred
• MS Office applications
• Must be highly detail oriented, focused, dependable, and trustworthy
• Security experience preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 50% of time)
• Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)
• Lifting of 40 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)
