Accountability

This position will report directly to a senior member of the cellar team and is a part-time position working approx. 20-30 hours including overtime and weekends/holidays when needed.

Specific Duties (in order of priority):

Cellar Operations 90%

Estate Management 10%

• Perform advanced cellar operations; such as blending, clarification, and stabilization of wines.
• Conduct barrel maintenance, topping off, and wine transfers.
• Perform various lab tests and analyses on grapes, must, and wine samples.
• Monitor and maintain cellar inventories.
• Assist in the training and supervision of Harvest Interns.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.
• Provide basic maintenance to the estate including the vineyard.

Requirements:

Professional Requirements

• Interested in winery cellar operations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Computer systems knowledge including Windows OS, MS-Office & Google Docs.
• Critical thinker and excellent problem solver.
• Detailed and task oriented and well organized.
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
• Follow direction with focused attention.
• Life long learner; exhibits insatiable curiosity and an interest in self-improvement.

Physical Requirements

• Be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Safely and repeatedly lift 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
• Be at least 21 years of age, and able to taste wine frequently.
