Job Summary:
Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab, located in Black Mountain, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time Dietary Cook to join our dedicated team. This individual will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our residents in accordance with dietary restrictions and menu guidelines. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a healthcare or senior living setting and a passion for providing high-quality meals for our residents.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position is a full-time, hourly role with a compensation range of $12.50 to $15.16 per hour, paid semimonthly. In addition, our employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and retirement options.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook meals for residents following dietary restrictions and menu guidelines
• Ensure all meals are appealing, nutritious, and presented in a timely manner
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper food safety protocols
• Assist with inventory and ordering of food and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas
• Communicate with other departments and staff to ensure resident needs are being met
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings as required

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a healthcare or senior living setting preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation standards
• Ability to follow recipes and menus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive attitude and a passion for serving others
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time
