POSITION – CNC Set-Up Machinist/Programmer

JOB LOCATION – Osseo, Wisconsin

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 2nd & 3rd Shift (3pm-11pm &11pm-7am, M-F)

STARTING PAY – $25.00/hour DOE

REQUIRED EDUCATION – High school diploma or equivalent desired; additional technical certifications are a plus.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – Prior experience in CNC machining, with proficiency in both set-up and programming.

As a CNC Set-Up Machinist,/Programmer you'll be responsible for setting up and programming lathes and/or mills to manufacture automotive parts, including those for esteemed brands like Cadillac and Harley-Davidson. You'll work primarily on 2nd and 3rd shifts, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining the highest standards of quality. Your role will encompass both set-up and programming tasks, as well as conducting first article inspections to ensure precision and accuracy; taking a part from start to finish!

Responsibilities

Set-Up and Programming: Prepare and set up CNC machines for production runs, including selecting and installing cutting tools, loading materials, and programming machines using G-code and CAM software.

Production: Operate CNC machines to produce automotive parts according to specified tolerances and quality standards, monitoring machine operations and making adjustments as necessary.

First Article Inspection: Perform first article inspections to verify the accuracy and quality of manufactured parts, utilizing precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with machine performance or part quality, implementing corrective actions to ensure smooth production processes.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including set-up sheets, program revisions, and inspection reports.

Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including engineers, supervisors, and quality control personnel, to optimize production processes and resolve technical challenges.

Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and productive environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in CNC machining, with proficiency in both set-up and programming.
  • Strong knowledge of G-code programming and familiarity with software.
  • Experience working with lathes and/or mills, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Ability to work effectively on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired; additional technical certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for duration of shift on concrete floor
  • Minimal twisting, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift/move 5-15 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. occasionally
