What will you do in this role:

  • Prepares/cooks hot and cold foods according to production plans and standardized recipes
  • Displays and serves hot and cold foods in an appropriate and attractive manner
  • Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Stores and disposes of food according to policies and procedures
  • Assists in maintaining food storage and work areas in a clean, sanitary, and orderly manner at all times
  • Interacts with residents, families, staff, and other visitors to the community in a pleasant, respectful, and courteous manner
  • Help put away Food Deliveries in an efficient and timely manner
  • Work at different food stations as assigned

You have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year in institutional or restaurant cooking and/or baking
  • The ability to operate various food service equipment

You might also have:

  • Culinary arts training
  • Knowledge of infection and exposure control and adheres to safe food handling procedures

Shift: Wednesday - Sunday 11am-8pm

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The ability to stand & walk the duration of your shift
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. unassisted
  • The ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs. of resistance
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens
  • Balfour is a pet-friendly community; you may be exposed to animal hair and dander
