We are currently seeking a Full-Time Sign Language Interpreter to work closely with our Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher in a high school setting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and possess a strong mitment to facilitating munication between DHH students and their teachers. This role involves providing interpretation services during classroom instruction, as well as supporting students in various educational settings to ensure they have equal access to educational opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation services to facilitate munication between DHH students and teachers in classroom settings.
  • Assist the DHH teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and acmodating the diverse needs of DHH students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure effective munication and support for DHH students in both academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes the academic and social success of DHH students.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while adhering to ethical standards in all interactions with students and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) with proficiency in interpreting between ASL and spoken English.
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher EIPA score
  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively municate with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting, Education, or a related field is preferred.
