Technical Trainer

Where you will work:

This position will be based out of Astound's Bethlehem, PA office with Hybrid Opportunity.


A Day in the Life of the Technical Trainer:

  • Development of training materials through detailed research, experience and needs assessments
  • Design and delivery of computer-based and multimedia curriculum
  • Coordination of materials and programs with other market technical training resources for consistent messaging and efficiency
  • Coordination of training schedules and training resources for the markets
  • Provide training using these and other methods: instructor-led (classroom and hands-on), web meetings, and online delivered by the LMS (Learning Management System)
  • Development of a Train-the-Trainer program for business partners and the maintenance of charged session records to the outsourced companies
  • Development of a skills based certification program for all technicians and partners
  • Coordination of external vendor training to support business needs and skill development
  • Maintains training records & reports on training delivered, including attendance roster
  • Provides safety training to include but limited to: Ladder, Aerial Lift, First Aid CPR and AED training as needed to support Company's Safety Program
  • Travel to offices within the company as needed to assist the market in meeting company goals and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 5+ years of telecommunications experience or equivalent required
  • 0 - 5+ years previous experience delivering technical training in Live, Virtual Instructor Lead, or On-Line environments
  • 0 - 5+ years experience delivering safety training
  • Proficiency in RF theory, Digital Theory, RF Design, Fiber Optics related to plant, IP networking basics and telephony, electricity, electronics, safety compliance or other related industry experience only required for the Technical Trainer II, III and Senior levels
  • Instructional design knowledge and skills including adult learning theory, job/task analysis, course and curriculum development, and evaluation
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to produce high quality Microsoft Power Point Presentations
  • Flexibility to travel within the designated market and occasional travel to other company locations to include out of state travel
  • Ability to travel to markets as required up to and including overnight travel 30-40% of the time
  • Valid Driver's license with satisfactory driving record within the company's requirements
  • Although not required, if you possess the following we strongly encourage you to apply:
  • Experience training Ladder usage, Aerial lift operations, First AID, CPR and AED, Confined Space, Electrical Safety and Defensive Driving preferred

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
