A lot about your new job

• Elementary school students need a place to just be kids, reconnect with their peers, and better understand themselves and their emotions. You and your team will create an environment that's welcoming, safe, supportive, and engaging.

• Kids deserve the opportunity to explore, grow, and believe in themselves - especially after the last two years. You'll have the chance to grow your emotional intelligence (we will help) so you can show kids how to explore, get curious, grow, and believe in themselves - like you do!
• Just by being yourself, you'll be teaching an intentional social emotional learning (SEL) curriculum during activities, discussions, games, and homework help

Logisitics you need to know for your new job

• WINGS operates afterschool programs in Title 1 elementary schools across GA, and SC
• Hours are part-time, Monday - Friday, approximately 1:30pm to 6:30pm (throughout the entire academic school year)
• Each program serves 30-100 students with a staff to student ratio of 1:10; no more than 1:15
• All programs have a dedicated full-time Program Coordinator and Coach who oversees each team of WINGS Leaders and kids

How you can stand out among applicants

• You are a high school graduate
• You have experience with elementary education/youth development/SEL (preferred)
• You are patient, work well under pressure, and can easily adapt to new circumstances
• You have a strong motivation to improve the lives of kids attending under-resourced schools
• You like to have fun and you can communicate calmly and confidently with kids

You've applied. Now what?

• Stage 1 (May 2023 - July 2023): Application and Online Interview process
• Stage 2 (June 2023 - August 2023): Applicant Offers and On-boarding process
• Stage 3 (August 2023): Newly hired staff begin with a mandatory 1 week training
• Stage 4 (August 2023 - May 2024): Applicants start employment at assigned program
