Job Description

The Capital Projects Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records, managing project budgets, and providing essential financial insights to support the Capital Projects team at Bethel. They will be responsible for keeping track of financial records within numerous projects taking place at Bethel Church that pertain to expansion. Within the position, the Capital Projects Financial Analyst will be a liaison between the Capital Projects Team and Finance Department within Bethel Church and will directly report to the Capital Projects Overseer as well as his Chief of Staff. This role offers flexible work locations, allowing remote work, with a requirement for up to four hours per week onsite.

Financial Analysis and Planning:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial cost analyses for recurring growth expenses.
  • Develop and manage construction budget projections.
  • Utilize financial modeling techniques to optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate on annual budget projections for the Capital Projects department.
  • Provide strategic financial insights for decision-making.
  • Act as a contact between the Capital Projects Team and Finance Department.
  • Communicate financial insights to project stakeholders.

Financial Software and Reporting:

  • Implement and maintain a system for tracking and reporting capitalization hours.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to inform project evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the team to align financial goals with project timelines.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of project efficiency through hours analysis.
  • Utilize expertise in financial software applications like Nexonia, Martus, and have proficiency in Excel.

Accounts Payable Support:

  • Provide hands-on support for accounts payable processes as needed.
  • Verify invoices, process payments, and reconcile financial transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial transaction processing.
  • Maintain smooth project operations through effective accounts payable management.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders for financial transactions.

Budget Optimization:

  • Optimize construction budgetary efficiency through detailed analysis.
  • Utilize financial modeling to align budgets with project objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and resource optimization.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for budget adjustments and reallocations.
  • Ensure financial goals align with the broader organizational budget.

Financial Reporting:

  • Generate financial reports for recurring growth expenses as well as annual budget projections.
  • Create reports for construction budget projections.
  • Develop comprehensive reports for strategic financial insights.

Construction Project Finance:

  • Apply financial expertise to ensure departmental financial transparency and accuracy.
  • Understand and manage capitalization processes for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with the Capital Projects Team to optimize financial strategies.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Apply strong analytical skills to solve financial challenges or discrepancies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.

Hours : 20hrs/week

Salary Range: $20,080 - $26,000.00/yr

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a finance administrator, preferably with a focus on capital projects or construction.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience with Martus, Nexonia, Monday.com and Google Workspace is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment as well as independently and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of construction accounting principles is a plus.
