Job Description
The FAA Quality Manager will be responsible for supporting quality requirements for aviation related products such as air medical systems, aircraft seats, and armor. This role will include involvement in new product development, sales assistance, customer quality requirements, production support, and continuous process improvement efforts. The QA Manager will ensure adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations pertaining to Part 21 Parts Manufacturing Approval and FAA Part 145 Repair Station certification including oversight of the Quality Management System
Duties
* Provides leadership, training, guidance, and timely reviews to those in the quality department
* Participate in Material Review Meetings
* Develop training, sampling plans, quality standards, and process control instructions to improve quality and manufacturing throughput
* Complete customer quality requirements & risk reviews on incoming projects
* Monitor key performance indicators and quality metrics to track performance and drive continuous improvement efforts
* Stay abreast of developments in aviation quality standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvements
* Lead investigations into quality issues and escapes, assist with root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
* In-depth knowledge of aviation quality standards and regulations to include FAA regulations, ISO standards, NADCAP requirements and industry best practices
Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Quality or technical discipline
* Minimum of seven to ten years experience in an aerospace manufacturing or maintenance environment
* Knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and FAA 14 CFR Part 145 requirements is required
* Experience working with FAA is required
