We provide quality and efficient services for all the following systems or needs: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, call-desk operations, steam, boilers, UPS, generators, custodial, grounds, pest control, fire control systems, elevators, gates, bollards, service calls, architectural, structural and building systems.

We have an excellent internship opportunity located in NW Washington, DC at a large historical federal building. Seasonal temporary assignment is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week during summer break 2024. We offer a great work atmosphere and eligible for all paid federal holidays during your internship!

The Project Management Intern will gain experience in project lifecycle including pre-evaluation/selection, project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing projects. Project types include operational and facility maintenance and repairs. Goal is to help build and develop your facility management knowledge in: finance and business, operations and maintenance, communication, performance and quality, risk management, leadership, and strategy and project management

Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers: Collaborate with project managers to execute project plans efficiently, including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and monitoring progress against milestones.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines, and deliverables to uphold project success
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze project data to derive insights, aiding in informed decision-making and contributing to project performance enhancement.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain project documentation, project plans, meeting minutes, and status reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, ensuring adherence to project management standards and best practices, thus fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management: Assist in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of project risks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop robust contingency plans and minimize potential impacts.

Requirements:

  • Working toward a certification or degree in a facility or renovation/construction.
  • Currently enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university program
  • Must be planning to return to school at the end of the 2024 summer break
  • Must be solution-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
  • Experience with digital tools and systems is a plus
  • Obtain and maintain public trust clearance for federal building badge requirements
  • Pass background and pre-employment drug screen
