OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a CNC Operator I who will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This role involves setting up machines, loading materials, monitoring machining processes, and performing basic maintenance tasks. Under the guidance of experienced machinists, you will play a crucial role in contributing to our manufacturing operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up CNC machines by loading the appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate machining
  • Operate CNC machines to produce components, monitoring machine performance and making adjustments as necessary
  • Conduct routine quality inspections using precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to verify part dimensions
  • Make tool changes, offsets, and program adjustments as directed by senior CNC operators or programmers
  • Perform basic machine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes
  • Identify and report any machine malfunctions or quality issues to the supervisor
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist in the documentation of production records, including part counts and machine logs
  • Collaborate with senior CNC operators and machinists to enhance machining skills and knowledge


Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic understanding of machining principles and CNC machine operations
  • Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in CNC machining
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Basic computer skills for machine operation and data entry
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend shifts as required
  • Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and may require hearing protection in specific locations.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
