HDR is hiring an Electronic Security Designer 2 to join our team in Orlando, FL.
Primary Responsibilities:
Primary duties will include the development of design specifications and drawings for integrated low voltage systems. Major areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Meeting with clients to determine detailed communications project requirements
- Develop communications design narratives, specifications, drawings and cost estimates for projects
- Coordinate electronic security design work with other disciplines such as Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.
- Formally present electronic security design ideas and submissions to clients
- Perform internal quality assurance/quality control for peer projects
- Perform contractor bid submittal review for completeness
- Provide construction administration services during construction phases of projects

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in low voltage system design
- Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time
- Broad industry knowledge and experience with Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Systems, UFC Standards,
- Must be self-starting, self-directing, and task oriented
- Demonstrated ability to manage a number of concurrent projects and meet deadlines
- Must possess strong written, verbal and communications skills
- Strong computer skills required, such as MS Office Suite, working across multiple office networks and automated business systems
Preferred Qualifications
- PSP certification is preferred
- CEPTED preferred
- AutoCAD, Microstation, VISIO, Bluebeam experience is a plus
- Military design experience is a plus
- Local candidates are preferred
