Summary

As a Machinist, you'll be a key player in crafting high-precision metal components using state-of-the-art lathes and milling machines. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining top-notch quality, ensuring each part meets rigorous standards for accuracy and performance. Responsibilities
  • Review shop router to align with machining requirements.
  • Measure materials to confirm compatibility with available stock pieces for machining.
  • Verify machine settings by measuring the first part and upholding quality standards.
  • Configure tooling and offsets accurately.
  • Proficiency in uploading programs to the control panel.
  • Perform minor program adjustments for speed, feed, and cutting depth.
  • Ensure parts adhere to Engineering Specifications outlined in blueprints and document all dimensions.
  • Competence in using a fork truck for material handling within the shop.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations in accordance with company policies.
  • Capability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions.


Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and analytical thinking.
  • Exceptional manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to utilize precision tools like calipers for precise measurements.
  • Experience in machine tools or mechanical assembly is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other materials.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and practices.


Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred apprenticeship or vocational training.
  • Experience in operating and programming manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machinery (e.g., lathes, grinders).
