HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

The Shipping Clerk will maintain data within a Warehouse Management System including PO receipts, cycle counting inventory, printing pick tickets, printing shipping documents and checking the status of orders to prepare for weekly shipments to meet shipping schedule.

  • Book transport cargo space and prepare quotations and invoices.
  • Confirm transport arrangements
  • Complete export documentation such as Bills of Lading
  • Liaise with international freight forwarders to arrange pickup and delivery of goods
  • advise clients of the costs of transporting goods and of the arrangements that have been made
  • check incoming goods against documents
  • keep records of goods dispatched and received
  • organize the delivery of goods for export or to an importer's premises
  • Prepare shipments for dispatch
  • Communicate with carriers such as road, rail, air, and sea companies
  • Receives PO's using a Warehouse Management System.
  • Pick orders by interpreting customer specific work instructions.
  • Adhering to the company's safety standards and enforcing safety regulations
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and warehouse
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all system transactions
  • Verify that the quality of outbound loads meet customer expectations
  • Responsible for adhering and maintaining the company's ISO standards

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Computerized Warehouse Management System experience
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in order to accurately complete job tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
  • Ability to use basic tools, various material handler equipment and hand-held scanners.
  • Must exhibit promptness and attention to detail
  • Basic computer, record-keeping and numeracy skills
