Job Summary:

This position is the "first point of contact" for most personnel visiting the site. The primary responsibility of the Compliance Technician is to protect all employees who work at the site and to guard against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. This position will authorize legal entry of people, property, or vehicles to and from the plant. Additional responsibilities include keeping accurate records, managing the visitor/contractor badges, answering company phones and more.

Responsibilities:

Role Specific Responsibilities:

Entry Control (Gate & Door)

• Authorizes legal entry of personnel and/or vehicles through "sign in" procedures and inspects vehicles before allowing entry and before allowing departure
• Verifies Contractor's Certificate of Insurance and ensures each contractor has received Safety Orientation before proceeding work
• Enforces access control procedures and verify Photo ID's and license plate information of individuals entering or exiting the premises
• Provides assistance and guidance to visitors, employees, and contractors Reports any incidents, accidents, or unusual occurrences to the appropriate authorities
• Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property
• Keeps an organized file for Security documentation

Emergency Response

• Follows Security procedures and checklist as outlined in the site Emergency Response Plan
• Obtains and produces necessary documents for emergency responders
• Utilizes PA system to broadcast emergency message and contacts police and fire department in the event of fires, injuries, or the presence of unauthorized persons
• Conducts regular inspections of the property to identify any security breaches or suspicious activities
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
• Maintains a working knowledge of all emergency policies, procedures and regulations to be able to respond to alarms, incidents and emergency situation

Communications Systems Admin

• Serves as incoming dispatch for Company telephones and connects callers to the appropriate extension
• Tests PA weekly to ensure operability

Waste Management

• Tracks/Inspects hazardous/non-hazardous waste, update accumulation log and manifests
• Completes RCRA 90-day storage area inspection checklist as required
• Organizes/Maintains the drum lot and profiles to company standard
• Completes the satellite accumulation drum and SPCC portable container checklists as required
• Wastewater discharge sampling

Additional Support Responsibilities

• Files/Makes electronic copies of Bill of Ladings (BOL), Hot Work, Confine Space, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) permits and manifests
• Creates new hire, contractor, visitor badges and manages all active site access
• Assists the Environmental Technician as needed
• Performs other duties and completes projects as assigned

Compliance:

• Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
• Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
• Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

• Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
• Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members

Qualifications/Desired Skills:

Education and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

• 2+ years of security experience is preferred
• Previous experience within a Manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft products - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are required and have the ability to learn position specific applications are a must

• Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of security procedures and protocols
• Good communication skills, customer service skills, safety awareness, and the ability and willingness to work in a team environment

• Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to respond using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
• Ability to work in a team environment within a multi-functional, organizational structure and exhibit robust interpersonal skills
• Must be able and willing to work indoors and out in all types of weather in order to support the operations
• Ability to move throughout the site including climbing stairs and ladders and walking the fence line
• Ability to function in a high stress environment when acting in emergency response mode
