Responsibilities:

MTSI is seeking a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join the PXCLS team in Huntsville, Alabama.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Provide multi-domain model building and simulation expertise for sensors, weapon systems, and mission CONOPS development
  • Support model and analysis tool software development, perform data acquisition, and conduct detailed analysis

About the Program:

 

MTSI, under the PXCLS contract, uses AFSIM to perform Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MSA) for evaluating multi-domain kill chains and kill webs built on existing and future advanced concepts. Our analytic work spans mission areas from Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), Precision Strike, Air and Missile Defense.  We model both blue and red systems at various levels of fidelity across all classification levels.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience supporting modeling and simulation of sensor, weapon and/or threat systems.
  • Capability to perform analysis to measure key system performance metrics and verify model behavior utilizing flight test data.
  • Experience developing briefings and presenting analysis results to high-level government customers to help them in their decision-making processes.
  • Capability to assume a leadership role during system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and other types of technical meetings.
  • Previously supported a major defense acquisition program in a high-visibility environment with mission-critical responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamics concepts (i.e., forces and resulting motion of objects through the air).
  • Ability to apply engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.
  • Proven ability to author various types of project documentation.
  • Willingness to mentor and provide advice to less experienced staff members.

Required Clearance:

Must have an active Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the AFSIM simulation framework is highly desired.
  • Knowledge and experience with 6-DOF model development, Monte Carlo Analysis, and Physics-based model development
  • Proven ability to perform hi-fidelity operational system analysis in order to quantify sensor, weapon system, and kill chain effectiveness and system survivability assessments.
  • Master of Science degree in a technical discipline (i.e. engineering, mathematics, physics).
