Senior Analyst, Tax - Sales and Use Tax

What you'll do...

Walmart's Sales Tax Team plays a critical role in the company's financial operations, focusing on both compliance and operational aspects of US sales tax. As a Fortune 1 market leader, Walmart is committed to transforming its end-to-end tax calculation system and processes, embarking on a multi-year journey to centralize and modernize their tax engine and compliance reporting. The team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of transaction taxes charged to customers and members across Walmart and Sam's Club domestic operations. With an annual responsibility of reporting and remitting over $21 billion in transactional taxes across thousands of jurisdictions, the Sales Tax Team also provides valuable insights to key tax policy stakeholders.

As an Analyst on the team, you will...

• Ensure accurate and timely compliance with sales tax regulations.
• Collaborate with various teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Analyze large volumes of data to identify areas of opportunity and risk.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Continuously stay informed on industry trends and best practices to ensure our organization remains compliant and competitive.
• Leverage technology to streamline and automate tax calculations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in a fast-paced business environment.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or law degree
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset
