Overview:

GovCIO is currently hiring for Enterprise Data Warehouse / BI Program Administrator to support, operate, and enhance our federal customer’s BI domain. This position is critical for providing analytics insights from the workload planning, task assignments, Momentum financials, and government timecard systems, among others. From here, data is visualized using Pentaho and PowerBI to provide dynamic dashboards to the C-Suite of the organization.

 

The office supported by this position is in Washington, D.C. and this role will be a fully remote position.

 

Provides hands on support for design, development, implementation and operations of BI solutions in Pentaho and PowerBI that help organizations to better manage and leverage their data assets.

Responsibilities:
  • Recommend optimal server and software configuration for customer specific DW/BI needs.
  • Installs and configures DW/BI software to meet customer needs in accordance with enterprise architecture.
  • Continuously tunes environment to optimize performance of DW/BI software.
  • Designs, implements and updates user management solutions to provide the appropriate levels of access to individual users and user groups in accordance with enterprise user authentication systems and customer security requirements. Evaluates vendor software updates to plan and implement software patches to mitigate security and vendor support risks.
  • May recommend changes to software and hardware configurations to improve performance and capabilities provided by current DW/BI environment.
Qualifications:

The EDW/BI Administrator is responsible for the development, operations, and optimization, BI and related ETL activities:

  • Data integration architecture and development using COTS product, expert knowledge in using Pentaho Data Integration in particular
  • Experience with OpenShift
  • Database technologies and database server internals, SQL programming in ANSI and Oracle SQL. PostGres a plus.
  • Full text indexing and searching technologies such as Lucene and ElasticSearch, tuning indexing and searching for search relevancy and accuracy; using data mining and machine learning tools and algorithms.
  • Architecting, customizing, deploying and performance tuning Pentaho BI servers and Pentaho reporting and analysis components, including embedding Pentaho analytics in custom web applications. 
  • Data analytics and information visualization, expertise in using modern JavaScript libraries such as d3.js to create scalable interactive information visualization
  • Modern web application development using JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS and ReactJS.
  • Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • Clearance Required: Public Trust
  • US Citizen or Green Card

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range: USD $95,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
