Veterinary Referral Center (VRC) is a comprehensive, referral specialty & emergency critical care veterinary hospital in Malvern, Pennsylvania. We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for appointments, advanced imaging, surgery and emergency/critical care services. At our hospital, you'll be working alongside a large team of experienced & board-certified veterinarians with advanced specialized training who utilize the latest innovations in medicine and technology to treat companion animals. Our veterinary services include trauma treatment and critical care, medical oncology, radiation therapy oncology, cardiology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, dentistry/oral surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, MRI and CT, endoscopy, rehabilitation, and emergency services.

We are looking for a full time veterinary assistant to compliment our medical oncology service. This is a controlled but quick paced environment that requires multitasking and organizational skill in addition to a broad nursing knowledge base and technical skills. We routinely have a large number of in-hospital patients, plus growing numbers of triages which come in 24/7. We depend on each member of the team to pull their weight and although we are a teaching hospital we do hope that this candidate would be able to hit the ground running.

This is a hands on position and is entry level. Animal handling experience is required.

The applicant must:

• Be proficient in organizational skills have an understanding of animal behavior have experience.
• Have the ability to multitask.
• Have exceptional communication skills.
• Have broad knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine.
• Be comfortable with blood/deceased animals, etc.
• Be flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and a team player.

Schedule:
Day Shift 8a-6p (Tuesday through Friday). Holidays, weekends as needed. 

Compensation:
$18-34 per hour based on qualifications. 
Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
