What we offer:

· Salary: $55,000-$60,000

Job Functions: The staff accountant will be responsible for all client requests and designated fund accounting functions within the organization.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Process all client assistance requests.
  2. Prepare invoicing and required back up documentation for reimbursement-based grants.
  3. Regularly review established grants to ensure accurate recording of both revenue and expense.
  4. Monitor coding for designated funds and ensure Finance Team has regular updates to new designated funds.
  5. Verify that invoices have been accurately coded and process reclassifications in AP (Accounts Payable) system or prepare adjusting journal entries as applicable.
  6. Provide and/or review proposed grant budgets as requested.
  7. Compile year-end reports, work papers and back up needed for various designated fund audits.
  8. Ensure validity and accuracy for payroll allocations to ensure payroll is allocated as stipulated in grant agreements and to ensure individual staff are not over allocated.
  9. Prepare activity reports for all grants.
  10. Review/monitor grants and transactions for compliance with private, local, state, and federal fund requirements, billing, journal entries and financial grant reporting.
  11. Coordinates with key personnel at all levels of the organization to support proper and timely expenditure of grant funds in compliance with applicable guidelines and budget deadlines.
  12. Applies indirect costs.
  13. Support the Holiday Center Operation as directed.
  14. Support the team in other tasks as assigned.
  15. Meets personal goals and actively contributes to the achievement of team and organizational targets/goals as reflected on the Balanced Scorecard, strategic plan, and department SMART goals.


Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required with at least 2-5 years of experience working with Grants and fund accounting.


Skill Requirements:

Must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework; dependability; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith, culture, and other sources of diversity; confidentiality of customer information; ability to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner.


Requires heart for ministry and comfort working with poor and homeless families and individuals. Requires understanding of poverty, a high degree of maturity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with low socio-economic and diverse populations facing crisis situations in a professional and diplomatic manner. Knowledge of community resources available to the homeless population.


Physical Requirements:

Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication of information; physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.


Other:

Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass applicable pre-employment background screening procedures. Valid FL driver's license with a safe driving record and insured vehicle to transport self and clients when necessary.
