Position Purpose:
The Driver Trainer is responsible for training delivery drivers on a day-to-day basis on all aspects of the delivery driver job duties. Utilizes all company training guides, manuals, checklists, and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, safety, and DOT regulations.
Performs preferred work method observations and provides verbal and written feedback on driver trainees' performance including suggested development actions. May run routes per business needs. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company. Must complete PACE certification training.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2 - 4 years of Transportation delivery driver experience specifically in foodservice industry with in-depth knowledge of DOT
Computerized fleet operations management systems knowledge
Valid CDL-A license
Preferred Qualifications
Associates/2-year technical degree
4 - 6 years of Transportation experience specifically in foodservice industry route delivery with in-depth knowledge of DOT regulations
Small group and one-on-one training experience

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills. Utilizes all systems and tools effectively, i.e., computer, software systems.
- Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations (i.e., hours of service, pre-trip/post-trip, etc.) and company safety policies and practices.
- Ensures all policies are followed.
- Delivers hands-on training that allows for maximum transfer of knowledge while ensuring customer needs, service times, labor and transportation costs are met and within guidelines.
- Provides ongoing and timely feedback to assigned driver trainees and supervisory staff. Feedback includes positive reinforcement and constructive corrective actions.
- Teach trainees how to communicate effectively with other drivers, dispatchers, and customers.
- Works with new driver hires and experienced drivers in classroom and/or field settings to prepare them for a successful professional driver career.
- May be asked to go out on routes as needed.
- Administer driver observations.
- May supplement PFG Driver Training Manual with local programs specific to the location, products and reports used in that market.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
