Responsibilities:

Staff Development Manager

Responsible for all aspects of the staff development plan to ensure compliance with the following: regulatory standards, documentation requirements, and the training and development of direct care staff. The Staff Development Manager identifies, prepares, presents and/or arranges presenter(s) and evaluates/documents the training and development programs that are needed for the community. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.

 

• Assists the Director of Nursing and Care Center Administrator with human resources functions to include  providing input for performance evaluations and assisting with employee health issues. 

-Develops and maintains staff education records that comply with regulatory mandates.

• Coordinates the Occupational Health Services for the Care Center employees, as directed.

• Organizes Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation sessions annually to assist staff in retaining current certification. • Participates in development and revision of policies.

• Prepares, develops, and implements a comprehensive staff development plan annually based on needs analysis.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and implements changes to improve effectiveness. • Responsible for providing orientation for new Care Center employees.

• Provides input to Director of Nursing and Care Center Administrator regarding budget needs for staff development.

• Provides (self or arranges outside source) unplanned/unscheduled training to address/resolve issues that arise.

• Uses a wide range of methods to implement training and incorporates adult learning principles. • Collaborates with the Care Center leadership to implement the competency validation program for direct care staff.

• Collaborates with Resident Care leadership to enhance practices that promote excellence

Qualifications:
  • Maintains a courteous and professional manner through interactions with others.
  • Uses discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all Federal, State and local privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Uses a resident and customer-focused approach to problem solving and goal setting.
  • Must possess knowledge of regulatory compliance and Continuing Care Retirement Community operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
  • Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • Must be sensitive to the needs of older adults and enjoy working with a senior population.
 

Education and Experience:

 

• Education: Graduation from a School of Nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses is required.

• Work Experience: Previous experience in staff development or program development is preferred. 3-5 years of experience working with the geriatric population is required.

• Licensure / Certification, where required: Current State Licensure in the state where practicing. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required or must be willing and able to become CPR and First Aid certified.

Pay Range: USD $67,506.00 - USD $84,370.00 /Yr.
