We are currently searching for a Grinder/Material Handler to be based out of Pendleton, OR. Reporting to the Shift Lead. This person will operate grinding machine and or package finish PVC pipe in proper crate quantities for shipment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior success as a Material Handler or equivalent position at Atkore International and experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company is a plus.

**Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

* Organize and separate Scrap material

* Operate grinding machine

* Keep regrind bins full

* Keep regrind area clean and organized

* Assist in other departments

* Weigh and transport finished product

* Cut crate boards to proper lengths and make adjustments if needed

* Assist with the running of the PVC extrusion lines

* Help with changeovers and stringing the line downstream and through the saw

* Able to identify pipe products that are out of specification

* Package finished pipe in proper crate quantities

* Maintenance and cleanup for production and storage areas.

* Know and follow plant safety rules and wear proper PPE (safety glasses, ear plus, steel-toe shoes, gloves)

* Able to prioritize tasks and anticipate needs in order to effectively manager time in order to accomplish all tasks

* Housekeeping in assigned area

* All other assigned duties

**Qualifications include:**

* Minimum education requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent

* Experience in manufacturing or prior success in Material Handler (or equivalent) position at Atkore International preferred

* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

* Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations

* Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization

* Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner

* Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment

* Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
