Part-Time Occupational Therapist - School-Based
Location: La Grange, TX
Duration: 2024-2025 School Year
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis for the 2024-2025 school year. The selected candidate will work approximately 22 hours per week, providing occupational therapy services to a caseload of 30-40 students. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students by supporting their functional abilities and participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' occupational therapy needs, in collaboration with educators, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings, focusing on enhancing their functional abilities and participation in academic and social activities.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment, promoting students' independence and success.
- Monitor students' progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed, maintaining accurate documentation of therapy sessions and outes.
- municate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing support, guidance, and resources to promote carryover of therapy goals in home and munity settings.
- Conduct approximately 3 STAR (Student Therapy and Academic Reinforcement) visits per week, focusing on enhancing student engagement and success in the academic setting.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Texas.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or pediatric settings preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
