IP Source Code Sr. Associate

The IP Source Code Sr. Associate is responsible for performing reviews of source code in a variety of programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Objective C, Python, and JavaScript. This role requires regular travel to onsite locations in the US to perform source code reviews for patent/intellectual property litigation cases. The Sr. Associate will also create reports, including a function calls summary, showing how key functionalities are performed by the software whose source code has been reviewed.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Work on projects involving source code review. Travel onsite to review the source code produced at onsite locations across the US.
• Consult attorneys, litigators and technical experts on patent/technical litigations and help them build/support the technical infringement theory in patent/technical litigation cases.
• Perform patent and software source code analysis and prepare Evidence of Use reports, showing how the claimed functionality is performed by the accused software.
• Provide timely reports to project manager and clients, and ensure assigned tasks are executed within the stipulated timelines.
• Complete ownership of communication with client about technical deliverables.

Skills / Attributes Required:

• 1-4 years of IP and Software industry experience
• BS/MS in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering is preferred
• Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as JAVA, C++, C, C#, Objective-C, Python or JavaScript is a must
• Knowledge of web, mobile, and enterprise software products and services is preferred
• Knowledge of hardware programming languages such Verilog or VHDL is a plus
• Experience in Software Architecture, App development, and debugging is a plus
• Ability to undertake software/firmware reverse engineering is a plus.
• Capability to understand complex/cutting-edge technologies and ability to explain them accurately in an easy to understand manner.
• Excellent content writing skills and solid verbal communication skills

Salary Range

The salary range for this role reflects the range of factors that inform case-by-case compensation decisions including education, experience, training, licensure, certification, and geography as well as the business and organizational needs specific to the role. Compensation ranges may be broad, reflecting flexibility within the budget and title to consider candidates of varied experience. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $95,000/year. Select roles are additionally eligible for Incentive Compensation in the form of our Annual Performance Bonus Program.
