PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and provides the necessary support to accomplish Maintenance Department objectives in the most safe, economical and technically feasible manner. Responsible for leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians. Directs the scheduling and maintenance activities in such a manner that high-quality repairs are completed in a timely manner align with the plant's safety, environmental and production objectives.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead, manage and develop a team of maintenance technicians, and ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with all Calumet procedures
* Ensure the efficient use of the ERP maintenance module including the timely close out of work orders, updating of maintenance task routines, generation of reports, etc.
* Direct major equipment repairs by ensuring proper monitoring of the condition of plant equipment in cooperation with the Operations and Technical groups to maintain reliable operations
* Establish/maintain the performance standards for maintenance utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), develop the method of measurement, and provide timely and routine feedback to those responsible for the performance (performance management)
* Troubleshoot quality and process problems in collaboration with Operations Manager, Process Engineers, and others to ensure all aspects of equipment operation and maintenance are maintained.
* Ensure proper training and coaching of maintenance personnel and the evaluation of performance of the team in a continuous manner
* Direct, assist and coordinate the maintenance team in the support of our manufacturing and distribution facilities to achieve high equipment uptime and machine integrity
* Effectively support Plant Safety and Environmental Goals and Directions
* Plan, organize, assign and coordinate maintenance department work to support achieving production schedules
* Perform and maintain Preventative Maintenance Program on all equipment, tanks, and supporting system as directed
* Investigates and initiates work method, process control, layout and operating improvement, coordinating such efforts with appropriate support functions
* Continually monitor plant processes for potential failures and opportunities for continual process improvement and assist in the purchasing and maintaining of Maintenance inventory
* Complete assigned projects as directed and interface with contractors as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred, with 5+ years' post-graduate work experience in an industrial setting with relevant management experience OR equivalent combination of formal education and work experience
* Demonstrated leadership skills and experience developing employees
* Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, allocate resources, delegate, communicate effectively and meet deadlines.
* Must be available to work overtime and nights / weekends as needed
* Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up-to 50 pounds.
* Must be able to interpret Process Flow Diagrams and Process System Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs)
* Personal commitment to quality and continuous improvement initiatives

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
* Proven safety experience / training and leadership including but not limited to: confined space, lock out tag out, hot work, safe work permits, personal protective equipment, and other critical safety procedures
* Extensive working knowledge of maintenance processes in a consumer-packaged goods and/or lubricant plant environment
* Knowledge of root cause analysis and very strong troubleshooting capability
* SAP / JDE experience
