Position Purpose:

Custodial Worker must be able to perform physical activities requiring the use of arms and legs and moving of whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential job function. This position may require overtime. This job classification is covered under the agency’s exposure control plan. Employees may reasonably anticipate being occupationally exposed to infectious materials. Employees must adhere to universal precautions including but not limited to wearing gloves. Responsible for performing a wide variety of custodial tasks. Required to have functional skills in all of these areas.

Qualifications:

Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health gives hiring preference to applicants who achieve National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC). To receive NCRC, interested applicants must contact a Missouri Career Center. Certification in CPR/First Aid is required or can be obtained shortly after being hired. Experience preferred in general building housekeeping. Must have a valid Missouri driver’s license. Read and write at a level appropriate to the classification. Ability to perform routine or heavy manual tasks depending on area of assignment.

Must pass background check provided for the agency by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Family Care Safety Registry which includes the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health and Department of Health and Senior Services. Must not be on any “do not hire” list with the Department of Mental Health or the Missouri Division of Family Services. Must have reliable transportation.
