Job Description

Scope:

The primary function of the Carpenter is to execute the delivery of self-perform carpentry services for a multitude of projects. The Carpenter possesses strong carpentry skills to perform tasks in the field to ensure quality and timely completion of assigned scopes of work.


FLSA Status: Full Time – (Hourly - Non-Exempt)

Salary Range: $25-$35/hr.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Carpenter Team Leader

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities The duties, responsibilities, and attributes of the Carpenter typically include, but are not limited to:


Technical Skills

  • Capable of performing a wide array of tasks to include, but not limited to, interior backing and blocking; roof blocking; installation of doors, frames, and hardware; installation of toilet and bath accessories; installation of access panels; installation of temporary safety railings and weather enclosures; limited wood and metal stud framing; limited demolition; limited drywall and painting.
  • Capable of operating a range of equipment including, but not limited to, forklift, scissors lift, boom lift, and skid steer.
  • Capable of reading Construction Drawings, as needed, to complete assigned scopes of work.


Management Skills

  • Execution of daily Self-Perform labor activities.
  • Shows the capacity to manage personnel directly under him/her as needed.
  • Utilizes Job Hazard Analyses to identify and mitigate safety risks for tasks performed by Self-Perform personnel.
  • Adheres to a quality control program for all Self-Perform scopes of work.
  • Participates in training and works toward being proficient in WEO safety standards.
  • Train and mentor employees under his/her supervision
  • Develops clear and precise daily reports.
  • Through a sense of urgency drives for results and success
  • Takes the initiative, strives for increased responsibility, and has the desire to learn.

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or GED

-3-5 years of experience in the Carpentry field

-Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook

-General knowledge and experience using daily software tools, such as Bluebeam, Plan Grid, etc.

-Preferred OSHA 10-Hour Safety Course


Physical Demands:

Performance of the required duties will require the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, and ability to climb ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

This position requires a minimum 40-hour work week. Must be willing and able to work overtime, as required.
