Hocking Hills Lodge and Conference Center located inside Hocking Hills State Park is seeking candidates with outgoing, friendly & welcoming personalities for Shuttle Van Driver positions.

Hocking Hills Lodge and Conference Center is a brand new 81-room lodge with 40 cabins, a full-service restaurant/lounge, and banquet facilities to accommodate up to 200 guests. Position Overview and Essential Functions: Provide quality service and hospitality by transporting guests to and from the lodge in a timely and safe manner. Assist guests in an efficient and courteous manner.

Uphold and abide by the policies in the Associate Handbook for your position. Follow these policies, rules and regulations for the safe and effective overall operation. Must have commitment to company values.

Be a good role model and actively seek opportunities to help maintain a positive, respectful and “harassment free” work environment. Report all harassing behavior immediately.

Display a proper professional attitude, demeanor, conduct, and cooperation effort toward guests, peers and management. Must be excellent team player with all departments of the hotel.

Regular attendance, in conformance with the schedule, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel operation. Please see your department or scheduling manager.

Work overtime when requested and approved.

You, and your team, must accept the role of an ambassador of the property for our guests. You make a major impression upon our guests, regarding their stay at our property. Model the right behavior by doing the right thing for our guests.

Professionally represent the hotel and property when interacting with guests from the community and industry organizations.

Proper uniform is required and maintaining a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per policy. Must comply with department appearance guidelines.

Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Channel guest comments or unsatisfactory reports to the Manager or Supervisor on duty.

Communicate shift/daily operations information, business needs, repair and equipment needs to Management Team

Notify your manager within 24 hours in the event you may have been injured on the job. Fill out any injury forms as required.

Job Responsibilities:

Drive to destination(s) and return to the hotel promptly.

Check and maintain fluid levels of the van.

Wash and clean interior of van, as needed.

Communicate to supervisor any mechanical malfunctions of the van.

Assist at front and with general cleaning while waiting for scheduled van shuttles.

Welcome and escort guests upon arrival.

Facilitate prompt guest check-out procedures by assisting guests with luggage.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualification Standards:

The individual must possess the job knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job. This being with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred but not required.

Experience: Customer service experience preferred.

Licenses or Certificates: State requirements to drive a motor vehicle. A valid Ohio driver's license. A CDL is not required. No major moving violations. Must pass a background and license check.

Specific job knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Neat and clean in appearance and in uniform at all times.

• Ability to follow instructions.

• Maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record as outlined by our motor vehicle insurance company. Any violations received while not on duty may affect your insurability and employment at the hotel.

• Possess interpersonal skills; should be friendly and outgoing.

• Possess good communication skills. Speak, write, and understand English.

• Exercise good judgment, is reliable and honest.

Physical Requirements:

• Operate van safely and legally. Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle after dark and in adverse weather conditons.

• Sit and drive a van for long periods of time.

• Requires walking back and forth while helping guests.

• Ability to bend down and lift into the van.

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally.

Appearance Guidelines: Uniform is required. See front desk dress and appearance guidelines. Also, one must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
