Job Description

Position Summary

Under general supervision, responsible for moderate to complex activities such as troubleshooting, repair, calibrate, maintain Company measurement equipment throughout the Midstream system, and collect samples. Ensure accurate measurement of the gas flowing through the Midstream system as well as consistent communications from the measurement equipment to the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. Assist with planning and oversee contractor work, and help verify invoices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and maintain Electronic Flow Computers to ensure accurate measurement.
  • Manually update gas analysis data in the Electronic Flow Computers.
  • Install and inspect orifice plates in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Collect gas samples and submit for testing and analysis.
  • Accurately detect and measure the moisture content of gas using Drager tubes.
  • Calibrate O2 (oxygen) analyzers.
  • Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting of gas chromatographs.
  • Assist with maintaining install schedule to meet construction deadlines.
  • Install tank level monitoring devices and measure level inside the tank.
  • Maintain ultrasonic meters to accurately measure pressure and flow.
  • Interpret data trends and other information to help identity measurement problems.
  • Troubleshoot and identify common issues with equipment, repair mechanical components, and seek assistance from senior level technician on complicated problems and repairs.
  • Provide daily reports and updates to supervisor.
  • Perform all work in a safe and professional manner, in accordance with Company and industry standards and regulations.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning contractor work, conduct quality assurance checks and verify accuracy with installation or calibration, as well as provide general guidance.
  • Accurately complete work orders in EAM (Electronic Asset Management) system.
  • Available for on-call rotation and responsibilities on weekends and holidays for emergencies during off hours, as needed.
  • Maintain a good relationship with other departments, gain general understanding of production schedule, and provide assistance when needed.
  • Work with third (3rd) parties regarding delivery point meters and associated witness testing.
  • Perform other duties upon request.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Licensure

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of Oil & Gas related experience.
  • ABB Totalflow basic training course.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.

Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent military and/or technical training.

Required Core Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Moderate knowledge of Electronic Flow Computers.
  • Moderate knowledge of cell modems, satellites, and radios.
  • Working knowledge using a pressure calibrator, temperature calibrator, voltmeter, and Hart communicator.
  • Working knowledge of gas chromatographs, ultrasonic meters, and moisture analyzers.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to install and maintain tank level indicators.
  • Adequate troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Ability to identify, isolate, and repair equipment or issues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment focusing on teamwork and unity.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Functions as an individual contributor with no company supervisory responsibility.

This position may be subject to:

  • Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.

  • Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

  • Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, combustibles, and explosives, exposure to high pressure pipelines.

Physical Demands

  • The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee will frequently be required lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee will occasionally be required lift, push, carry and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Be able to bend, stoop, and crouch, etc. regularly.

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel may be required to other locations.
  • Frequent travel to Company’s field operations.
