Business Development Manager

Overview
Develop a strategic plan for the development of new business and provide tactical steps for implementation. Manage the day-to-day business functions of the credit union, specifically related to the student branches. Cultivate new, and maintain existing, relationships for all facets of corporate sponsorship, auto dealers, RV/boat and motorcycle dealers, realtors, etc. Coordinate with company executives, management, and sales & marketing to review current market trends in order to propose new business ideas. Manage the business development staff. Responsible for the student branches ensuring set goals are achieved through operations, members service, and teaching, all items report directly through Business Development Manager.
Responsibilities
  • 35% - Increasing the value of current membership while attracting new members, with a primary focus on student branches. Collaborate with sales and marketing team to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profit goals. Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition. Responsible for student branch marketing and events, all items related to marketing within student branches. Manage, track, and communicate student accounts and sales goals relative to student branches. Work with teachers, principals, and appropriate parties within the schools to ensure successful communication and execution of events and initiatives.
  • 25% - Manage the business development staff and monitor the workflow of the department against goals and targets for the student branch development. Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills. Ensuring to coordinate with partnered schools in planning out teaching schedules, branch operations, and leading student branch team to set monthly/annual goals and objectives.
  • 20% - Contact prospective members, SEGs, auto dealers, RV/boat and motorcycle dealers, brokers, etc., to present information on products and services of the credit union. Serve as the primary liaison connecting the credit union’s existing SEGs and maintain the facets of the relationship with Branch Managers. Make formal presentations at SEGs to introduce the credit union to employees; answer questions and provide a resource that encourages participation. Coordinate events and responsible for increasing membership at SEGs. Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • 5% - Be a visible presence in the local community and sponsor the community. Promote the credit union through visible participation in business, community, and charitable organizations and activities.
  • 5% - Mentor, coach, and train employees on how to deal professionally and effectively with members, SEGs, and other contacts such as auto dealers and realtors in promoting the credit union.
  • 5% - Finding and developing new markets and improving sales. Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand the business
  • 5% - Promote all products and services with cross-selling to meet members’ or SEGs’ needs. Manage the correspondence and direct marketing programs.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of Business Development/Sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills
    • This job requires a significant level of diplomacy and trust
  • Ability to communicate to all levels within a school system
*** Pay: $65-75K (Compensation can vary depending on experience)
