Nurse Technician (Surgical)

Nurse Tech(s) are employees that are currently enrolled in a RN or LPN program and have completed their first semester of the nursing program. A Nurse Tech at NMC Health is able to complete more advanced patient care (insert Foley catheters, IV start, etc.) after training has been provided. In this role, you will use your dedication and compassion to be a vital link between our patients and our talented healthcare professionals ultimately delivering compassionate care as you help to discern what is in the best interest of the patient/family.

This is a PRN position on the Surgical Unit. The shifts are 7a - 7p or 7p to 7a. However we are very flexible with nurse tech hours and will work directly with your school schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Currently enrolled in an ACEN or CCNE accredited RN program
• First semester of program must be completed
• Maintain a 3.0 GPA average
• Willing to train the right candidate

Licensure, registration or certification

• Current Kansas CNA license required
• Current certification in CPR/Basic Life Support required
