Summary

Happy Haven Childcare is looking to hire awesome preschool teachers for our 4yrs old classroom. Preschool teachers provide valuable support to our facility by instructing children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for kindergarten. Ideal preschool teacher candidates will have experience in providing supervision both in the classroom and playground areas, assisting with maintaining the cleanliness of the classroom areas and general facility, assisting children with educational and personal-care routines, and assisting families with arrival to the facility daily. The preschool teacher position is scheduled for full time work shifts available: 8:30am -5:30pm or 9am-6pm MONDAY-FRIDAY. FREE childcare will be provided for employees.

Duties

  • Assist in teaching basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
  • Read books to entire classes or to small groups.
  • Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
  • Teach proper eating habits and personal hygiene.
  • Serve meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
  • Demonstrate activities to children.
  • Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
  • Organize and label materials and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their ages and perceptual skills.
  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of preschool programs.
  • Attend staff meetings


Requirements

  • Set up classroom materials or equipment.
  • Provide for basic needs of children.
  • Read to students.
  • Monitor student behavior, social development, or health.
  • Discuss problems or issues with supervisors.
  • Attend training sessions or professional meetings to develop or maintain professional knowledge.
  • Successfully pass criminal records / background check and fingerprinting.
  • Attend all scheduled work shifts on time
