Machine Helper

At Hood Container Corporation - Lebanon, we are looking for coachable, driven Machine Helpers to join our 2nd Shift team. Second shift working hours are: 2:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. When business volume increases create a need for overtime, the crew will add two hours per night (working until 1:00 a.m.) Monday through Thursday. When absolutely necessary, we work 8 hours on Saturday.

You will learn to assist the Machine Operator on any of several types of corrugated converting machines, including:

• Flexo Folder Gluer
• Rotary Die Cutter
• Flat Bed Die Cutter
• Specialty Folder Gluer and/or
• Litho Laminator Operator

Each machine converts corrugated board (cardboard) into boxes or more complicated retail displays. The machine crew is made up of 3-5 coworkers, all working to produce quality boxes in a highly productive environment. How You Will Contribute:

• Work with a small team to manufacture Corrugated Cartons and/or complex retail Displays.
• Must be team-oriented, organized, detailed, and able to perform physical activities.
• Experience with equipment operation and safety guidelines.
• Must be willing to work over-time and Saturdays when required.

What it Takes:

• Must be able to repeatedly lift oversized sheets of corrugate and boxes from ground level to chest level.
• Must be able to read and understand a tape measure (imperial units of measure) and basic math (including fractions).
• Must be able to wear protective equipment for extended periods of time including: Gloves, safety glasses, goggles, steel toed shoes, and ear plugs.
• Must be able to work in warehouse that is not climate controlled for up to 10 hrs. per day.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed (up to 10 hours per day. Up to 6 days per week).
• Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, twist, and reach around equipment and obstacles unassisted as needed.
• Must be able to stand unassisted for up to 10 hours per day while wearing safety shoes.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and lift more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Must be able to work in tight spaces.
• Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen to qualify for full-time employment.

• Inspect finished product.
• Assist with setting up machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
• Inspect material and identify any non-conforming or defective material; perform in process and outgoing material inspection.
• Feed machine.
• Ensure finished sheets are properly stacked and transferred to conveyor.
• Clean work area.
• Cross-train on other machines.
• Other tasks assigned.
