Position Summary:Revere Health is seeking to recruit a Family Medicine Physician to join our Delta office in Utah. Revere Health typically attracts physicians that value a team approach to care, evidence-based medicine, self-governance and self-management. We are surrounded with the beauty of mountains. Water sports of all kinds, skiing, hiking, fishing, camping, and magnificent scenery await your photographic skills and personal delight. Delta is located in Central Utah in Millard County. We serve a large geographical region with multiple outdoor venues. Delta and its surrounding communities are a rural setting. Travel to larger cities is about 70-120 miles. Provo, the nearest metropolitan area is about 91 miles.


Essential Job Functions: 

  1. Primary Care Services:
    • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
    • Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions.
    • Conduct routine health screenings, preventive care, and wellness exams.
    • Manage patients' chronic conditions through ongoing monitoring, medication management, and lifestyle counseling.
  2. Obstetric Care:
    • Provide prenatal care to pregnant patients, including initial assessments, regular check-ups, and screenings to monitor the health of both mother and fetus.
    • Perform deliveries of low-risk pregnancies, including vaginal deliveries and management of uncomplicated labor.
    • Evaluate and manage obstetric emergencies such as preterm labor, fetal distress, and postpartum hemorrhage.
    • Coordinate care with obstetric specialists or transfer patients to tertiary care centers when necessary for high-risk pregnancies or complications.
  3. Gynecological Care:
    • Offer gynecological services such as well-woman exams, Pap smears, contraception counseling, and management of gynecological conditions like menstrual disorders and menopause-related issues.
    • Perform minor gynecological procedures such as colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and intrauterine device (IUD) insertions/removals.
  4. Newborn and Pediatric Care:
    • Provide comprehensive care to newborns, including conducting newborn assessments, monitoring growth and development, and addressing common newborn concerns.
    • Offer pediatric care services, including well-child exams, vaccinations, developmental screenings, and management of pediatric illnesses and conditions.
  5. Emergency Medicine:
    • Serve as the primary provider for emergency medical care in the rural community, including stabilization and initial management of trauma, acute medical conditions, and obstetric emergencies.
    • Collaborate with emergency medical services (EMS) personnel and other healthcare providers to ensure timely and appropriate care for patients requiring emergency services.
  6. Collaboration and Referral:
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals, to provide coordinated care for patients.
    • Facilitate referrals to specialists or tertiary care centers for patients requiring advanced or specialized medical services not available locally.
  7. Community Engagement and Education:
    • Engage with the local community to promote health education, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives.
    • Participate in community outreach programs, health fairs, and educational seminars to raise awareness of healthcare issues and resources available.
    • Provide mentorship and education to medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals participating in rural training programs.
  8. Electronic Health Record (EHR) Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters, including clinical notes, orders, prescriptions, and correspondence with other healthcare providers.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices for EHR documentation and data security.


Qualifications: 

  1. Medical Degree (MD or DO):
    • Completion of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  2. Residency Training:
    • Completion of a residency program in Family Medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  3. State Medical License:
    • Possession of a valid medical license to practice medicine in the state of Utah. This requires successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX), as well as meeting all state-specific licensing requirements.
  4. Board Certification in Family Medicine:
    • Board certification in Family Medicine by a recognized credentialing body such as the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
  5. Additional Training or Certification in Obstetrics:
    • Additional training or certification in obstetrics, including prenatal care, labor and delivery management, and postpartum care, either through residency training or post-residency fellowship programs.
  6. Experience in Rural Medicine:
    • Experience or a demonstrated interest in rural medicine, including familiarity with the unique challenges and healthcare needs of rural communities.
  7. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  8. Commitment to Continuing Education:
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education to stay abreast of advances in family medicine, obstetrics, medical technology, and best practices in rural healthcare.
  9. Adherence to Ethical and Professional Standards:
    • Adherence to ethical and professional standards of conduct, including maintaining patient confidentiality, providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care, and promoting patient autonomy and informed decision-making.
  10. Collaborative and Team-Oriented Approach:
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, nurses, midwives, and specialists, to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care to patients in a rural setting.

 

Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. 1/2 day/week will be spent in the hospital doing procedures, colonoscopies, EGD's, etc.

 

Additional Notes: Candidate will need to acquire local hospital privileges and take OB call. Some ER call may be a possibility depending on scheduling with the Intermountain Health dept. OB provider a must.
