Electrician

Job Type: Regular, Full Time Positions Supervised: NONE Work Schedule: OPEN


Position Summary

The Electrician performs a variety of electrical systems and maintenance duties, while ensuring maximum facility uptime to meet production goals. This position requires knowledge of and hands-on-experience with the following technologies: instrumentation, electronics, hydraulics, power transmission, mechanics, welding, and pneumatics.

The Electrician performs a variety of electrical systems and maintenance duties, while ensuring maximum facility uptime to meet production goals. This position requires knowledge of and hands-on-experience with the following technologies: instrumentation, electronics, hydraulics, power transmission, mechanics, welding, and pneumatics.


Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in compliance with all approved safety regulations, plant codes, policies and procedures/programs.

• Troubleshoot and repair as required 3 phase Electrical Circuits/ MCC Cabinets/ Controls

• Troubleshoot and repair as required VFD panels, PLC, HMI equipment

• Undertake Electrical Preventive Maintenance of facility distribution sources

• Conduct Preventive Maintenance of computers/ optimizers and associated controls

• Work in safe manner using proper PPE


Preferred Education and Experience


• High school diploma or GED

• Must have ability to read and understand electrical prints

• 5+ years mechanical/hydraulic controls experience

• Experience in an industrial environment

• Experience with high voltage

• Ability to arrange and implement all maintenance projects

• Excellent computer skills to include word/excel/outlook

Required Skills/ Abilities


• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds

• Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel

• Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams

• Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment

• Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems

• Willing to work overtime

• Personal electrical hand tools and multimeter are required


Work Environment Manufacturing Plant Physical Demands

This job requires the ability to sit, stand, lift and/or move. Must be able to tolerate extreme hot, humid, cold, and outdoor conditions. Comfortable working in loud environment, around moving machinery, with vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Ability to work day, evening and night shifts, weekends and scheduled long (holiday) weekends.
