Human Resources Assistant


Department: HR

Job Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Reports To: General Manager and HR Business Partner

Amount of Travel Required: None

Job Type: Regular, Full Time

Positions Supervised: None

Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm

Monday through Friday 8 hours a day, overtime as needed

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The Human Resource Assistant will perform the daily functions of Human Resources including scheduling interviews, recruiting and staffing, onboarding, overseeing time and attendance, administrative duties , and front office duties, and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

  • Works and coordinates with HR Manager on open roles, screen candidates, schedule interviews, extend offers and manages the onboarding process.
  • Implements new hire orientation.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Coordinates with HR Manager all ER issues including disciplinary issues, terminations and investigations.
  • Works and coordinates with HR Manager / payroll any timekeeping and payroll issues.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assists with administering compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include safety training, and anti-harassment training.
  • Administer safety programs as assigned.
  • Maintains HR records.
  • Maintains safety records.
  • Serves as backup for administrative office responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • BS degree preferred
  • 5-8 years HR experience

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Computer Skills: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software; Word Processing software; and PowerPoint. Specifically requires strong skills in MS Word, Excel, and HR related systems.

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.
