Position Summary: ESC is seeking dynamic, energetic, and driven individuals to join our business and industry. This program will teach you about the exciting opportunities in the electrical distribution industry, and the relationship between distributors, electrical contractors, general contractors, architects, lighting designers, and building owners. Additionally, you’ll learn how the supply chain (product manufacturers and their representation agencies) interact with distributors to support the construction industry. While other internships and co-op opportunities are focused on one particular part of the business, here at ESC we work with our Co-Op's and Intern's to gain exposure to various parts of the business and custom-tailor a program that meets your individual interests and strengths.

Responsibilities:

Projects (Lighting and Switchgear):

  • Engage in the quotation development process
  • Participate in all phases of Project Management
  • Contribute to the Project Schedule Generation / Updating
  • Introduction to Revit and Bluebeam Modeling (Business Applications)
  • Engage in Document Control Process
  • Partner with Projects team to engage and interact with customers
  • Partner with various department to engage in vendor management


Sales (Counter, Inside, and Outside):

  • Partner with various sales positions to directly interact with clients (including traveling to customer locations) and engage various sales processes (including counter, inside, and outside sales).
  • Work at various branches and locations (including our central distribution center “CDC”) to develop product knowledge and a general understanding of distribution practices between locations and customers.
  • Develop and utilize a general understanding of adapting marketing and sales best practice for customers of various needs, sizes, and demands.


Operations (Full Cycle Supply Chain Management):

  • Learn all aspects of the Central Distribution Center to develop a well-rounded understanding of the support required to sustain the industry
  • Actively engage in the receiving, shipping, and delivery functions utilizing our bar-coded RF scanning system
  • Collaborate with our purchasing team on vendor management and supply in our industry
  • Develop hands-on experience working with various technical tools to enhance and streamline operations productivity


General and Administration:

  • Partner with the accounting team to engage in generally accepted accounting practices including processing and file accounts payable and receivable activities including invoices, statements, and credit memos using the company’s ERP system.
  • Collaborate with the Information technology team to Provide helpdesk support Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software as well as modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation and update respective databases.
  • Support Human Resources team to develop, train, and implement corporate policies, procedures, and best practice to achieve compliance standards.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· A passion for effectively communicating both verbally and in writing

· Values delivering excellence in customer service and developing interpersonal relationships

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, as well as analytically minded, and solution-oriented

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Working Conditions:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
