Shipper

Baxter Manufacturing, a full-service supplier to the automotive plastics industry, located in Westminster, SC has an immediate opening for a Shipper (one on 2nd shift and one for 3rd shift) . Base rate $17.34 plus $1.00 night shift premium and eligible for $2.50 more per hour for perfect attendance incentive. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

1. Operates computer to generate picklist/bill of lading for shipment
2. Pulls and stages loads
3. Unloads trailers
4. Perform monthly cycle counting/inventory management of product
5. Maintains order and cleanliness in warehouse, putting product in correct designated location
6. Maintains general housekeeping in warehouse (i.e. sweeping, mopping, wiping tables/counters, cleaning docks, outside area, etc.)
7. Performs preventative maintenance checks on forklift daily; fills out required checklist
8. Refuels forklift propane tanks
9. Sets up and schedules trucks
10. Perform leadership duties in absence of supervisor
11. Supports quality, 6S, environmental, health, and safety initiatives applicable to the job
12. Follows safety rules and uses required personal protective equipment
13. Any additional duties as assigned by supervision

TECHNICAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1. Must have 3-5 years previous shipping experience
2. Must have 3-5 years previous forklift operation experience in warehouse environment
3. Must be able to operate computer; A/S 400 experience desired
4. Must be able to read, write, perform basic mathematics
5. Previous supervisory or leadership experience desired

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Must maintain regular and predictable attendance, including frequent overtime
2. Must be able to climb steps into semi-truck, board/unboard forklift
3. Must be able to stoop (bend body downward and forward at the waist)
4. Must be able to kneel and crouch (bend legs at knee; come to rest on knee)
5. Must be able to use both hands and arms to reach, grip, grasp, write, operate computer/scanner repetitively
6. Must be able to exert force to push or pull containers
7. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds frequently; 36-50 pounds occasionally
8. Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods on concrete floor
9. Must be able to communicate verbally
10. Must be able to hear noise from forklifts, moving vehicles, and pedestrians
11. Must have close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, view computer terminal, distance vision for operation of forklift
12. Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions
13. Subject to moving machinery and vehicles, vibration caused from forklift operation
14. Subject to dust, odors, fumes, and gases
15. Must be able to work in self-directed manner with minimal supervision; lead and direct others
