DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise and manage the activities of hotel housekeeping department staff and assist in the management of all hotel housekeeping department operations. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Is responsible for assisting in the management and performance of the hotel housekeeping department staff including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, payroll activities and training and development activities.
2. Ensures that hotel housekeeping department staff are providing exceptional guest services to assist in guest relations and the overall profitability of the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
3. Assists in the monitoring of internal operations including daily operations, scheduling and management of policies and procedures.
4. Is responsible for assigning daily activities to the hotel housekeeping staff and assigning staff to appropriate shifts on a daily and weekly basis to ensure daily workload activities are achieved.
5. Executes numerous hotel housekeeping and cleaning activities to ensure cleanliness of facilities.
6. May assist in the performance of hotel housekeeping department staff activities to ensure guest expectations and hotel housekeeping department operations are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
7. Trains and orients hotel housekeeping staff to position responsibilities, department operating procedures and adherence to sanitation and safety guidelines.
8. Is responsible for inspecting rooms for occupancy including delays in check out.
9. Completes and maintains all shift reports, schedules, work order logs and occupancy projections on a daily basis.
10. Manages and maintains inventory supplies and orders supplies to replenish inventory.
11. Works closely with the hotel housekeeping manager to analyze department performance and implements enhancements and changes to maximize efficiencies.
12. Is responsible for participating in the development and adherence to the hotel housekeeping department budget that may include staff and equipment forecasting.
13. Responsible for recommending and maintaining hotel housekeeping department objectives, standards and policies and procedures for review by the Hotel Housekeeping Manager.
14. Notifies manager, security or facility administrator of situations that may affect guests, associates or the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Frequent contact with the front desk, engineering, security and banquet associates.
External: Continual contact with guests and visitors.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the direct supervision of approximately ten associates.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Operates independently with supervision received from the Hotel Housekeeping Manager. Must review major or unusual decisions with the Hotel Housekeeping Manager.

EDUCATION: A High School education or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year supervisory experience in a housekeeping environment is required. Prior experience in a customer service environment and with PC’s is preferred.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation, problem solving, and people management skills. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
1. Work Conditions: The majority of position responsibilities are performed within the hotel with some exposure to differentials in temperature.
2. Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to situations where hazardous chemicals, spills, wet floors of guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions.
3. Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend or lift for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate housekeeping machinery for extended periods of time.

OTHER: Must attend all mandatory meetings and participate in departmental training and development sessions.
