About us: Sunshine Starts is a premier day care located in the heart of Yorktown Heights- right in the Triangle Shopping Center. We are a NYS licensed day care that provides care for children ages 8 weeks to 5 years old. We also provide before and after school care for our community.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for people who are passionate about our mission and teaching philosophy. If you're friendly, nurturing, engaging and professional demeanor and have a strong work ethic- then we're looking for you!
As an Infant Teacher you will:
- Be responsible for the well being of children ages 6 weeks to 18 Months
- Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
- Supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
- Engage with parents to discuss their child(ren)
- Engage in a responsive caregiving classroom environment
- Record each child's daily activities
- Create and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
Required Qualifications/Criteria
- CDA, Bachelor's in related field, or have a plan of study
- Minimum of one year of experience working with infants in a childcare setting
- Friendly, nurturing, engaging and professional demeanor
- Strong work ethic
- Be punctual
- Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom
- Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children as required
- Have dependable transportation
