Summary (Essential Functions): In the busy world of fine dining restaurants, there is the front of house: the servers and bartenders, and the back of house: the cooks and chefs. In between these two groups is the expeditor. Food expeditors communicate orders and information between the front of house and back of house, making sure that food is cooked in the right order, quickly, and presented to the customer as beautifully as possible. This position also ensures the kitchen area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary area. The expeditor must be safety conscious, knowledgeable, and in compliance with all laws and Club policies concerning the safety of others. This position requires a friendly, highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision.

Sign-on Bonus: After 6 months of service, employees receive sign-on bonuses as follows:

35+ hrs/wk - $1000

21 - 35 hrs/wk - $500

1 - 20 hrs/wk - $250

Details:

  • Plan and manage the order flow, so orders are cooked in a timely fashion and all orders for a table are ready at the same time
  • Serve as a contact point for the kitchen and the wait staff
  • Communicate to wait staff and manager on duty when the kitchen is out of a particular menu item
  • Take care of customers with special needs and requests; explain special orders to the cooks
  • Oversee dishes before they leave the kitchen, making sure that the final plate is dressed, correctly garnished, and free from smudges or spills
  • Ensure that servers run food to the table while it's warm and ready, and assist with running food to tables when needed
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks assigned by managers
  • Help with food prep during slow shifts or down time
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant quality and sanitation rules and regulations
  • Give suggestions for the improvement of the restaurant's offerings and reputation
  • Execute a variety of different tasks as needed, in accordance with managers' requests and directions

Qualifications: Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of 50 pounds. The position requires flexible availability and effective communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
